Mark KortenoeverSenior Partner
Mark Kortenoever graduated from Leiden University in 1987 with a master’s degree in Dutch law. He was admitted to the Bar of Rotterdam (the Netherlands) in 1987 and to the Sint Maarten Bar in 1988. Mr. Kortenoever focuses on the litigation practice and advises on corporate matters with the emphasis on structured finance and project finance.
Mr. Kortenoever is ranked as the Project Finance law expert in Sint Maarten by Global Law Experts and as Project Finance member in the Dutch Caribbean by International Referral.
Apart from the law practice, Mr. Kortenoever is a member of the General Audit Chamber of Sint Maarten; a High Council of State charged with the examination of the financial and material management of the Government. He also serves as a deputy member on the Council for Disciplinary Matters.

Jeroen Veen is one of the founding members of Lexwell. He studied law at Leiden University and graduated in 1987 with a master’s degree. He was admitted to the bar in 1988. Subsequently he worked as an attorney in the Netherlands, Curaçao and since 1992 on Sint Maarten. In 2017, Mr. Veen graduated from the University of Cumbria (UK) with a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA).
With three decades of experience, Mr. Veen is an expert in all types of litigation. Especially cross border litigation involving corporate law, contract law, real estate and property law.
Apart from the law practice, Mr. Veen was a member of the Appellate Council for disciplinary matters, (deputy) member of the Sint Maarten Electoral Council and chairman of the board of SZV; the national health insurance and pension administrator.

Femke Jansen graduated cum laude from the University of Utrecht in 2011 with a master’s degree in Dutch Private Law. In 2012, Ms. Jansen graduated from the University of Cambridge (UK) with a first class LL.M. degree. Shortly afterwards Ms. Jansen was admitted to the Bar of Utrecht (the Netherlands). She worked there over 3 years as an attorney in corporate law and commercial contracts with a top 20 law firm. Ms. Jansen joined Lexwell in 2016 and is admitted to the Bar of Sint Maarten.
Ms. Jansen practices as a litigator and adviser with a focus on commercial contracts, corporate law and labor law.
Apart from the law practice, Ms. Jansen is a board member of the Foundation for Professional Education for attorneys in Sint Maarten, an author for a Dutch legal commentary and an editor for a Dutch case law journal. She is also a member of Rotary Club of Sint Maarten-Mid Isle and a Rotary adviser to their EarlyAct club.

Fehmi KutluerAttorney at Law
Fehmi Kutluer graduated from Utrecht University in 2009 with a master’s degree in European Law. Before coming to Sint Maarten, Mr. Kutluer gained experience at several law firms in the Netherlands, focusing on intellectual property law. He joined Lexwell in October 2011 and was admitted to the Bar of Sint Maarten the same year. After joining the Sint Maarten government sector in 2016, first at the Bureau for Intellectual Property and later at the Ministry of Justice, Mr. Kutluer returned to Lexwell in July 2019.
Mr. Kutluer practices as an all-round litigation attorney and assists prospective Sint Maarteners with their immigration papers. He also handles most of the firm’s intellectual property cases, including trademark registrations.

Camille Schoon graduated from the University of Amsterdam in 2015 with a master’s degree in Dutch Private Law. During her master’s degree Ms. Schoon studied half a year at the University of Granada in Spain. Furthermore, she did several internships including at a law firm in Washington D.C.
Shortly after her graduation, Ms. Schoon was admitted to the bar of Rotterdam (the Netherlands). Ms. Schoon worked for almost four years as an attorney with a top 10 law firm. After that Ms. Schoon worked as Legal & Business Affairs Manager at Armada Music for one and a half year.
Ms. Schoon joined Lexwell in 2021 and practices as a litigator and adviser with a focus on commercial contracts and corporate law.

Christiaan Wasiela graduated with distinction from the University of Tilburg in 2012 with a master’s degree in International Business Law and International and European Public Law. Mr. Wasiela graduated in 2016 from Renmin University in Beijing with a master’s degree in Chinese Law.
After working for a corporate bank in Singapore Mr. Wasiela joined Lexwell in January 2018.Email Christiaan
Margot RemmeltsAttorney at law
Margot Remmelts graduated with a master’s degree in Dutch Civil and Corporate Law from the University of Groningen in 2017. During her studies she joined the study association for international relations, worked for several committees and traveled. After completion of her master’s degrees she started to work as a volunteer for the Dutch Red Cross to help victims of human trafficking with legal matters.
In 2015 Ms. Remmelts did an internship at Lexwell, she returned to work for Lexwell in November 2019.
